New Breed Of Golfers Keeping Golf Alive

Young guns play hard for Couples

Young guns play hard for Couples

It's a tough time for golf all the way around, especially with Tiger Woods out of the picture. But it was great to see some of the newer players come through in the Presidents Cup matches. The Presidents Cup is getting to be almost as interesting as the Ryder Cup!

Having followed the PGA Tour for a long time I was sad to see the end of the Nicklaus era, excited again when Tiger Woods came on the scene, flattened out somewhat after Tiger won everything and now pumped up again with this new breed of players. They are young, they are fit, and they are fearless!

So once again I turn to a golf WOP (world opinion poll) to ask my fellow golfers what they think about this new breed of touring professionals. Among the new players playing on the PGA Tour, who do you think is the most exciting to watch and which one do you think might have a major win in their future?

Last Round Before You Tee It Up At Pearly Gates CC

This is a tough one, I know the course I would play if it was my last round of golf, I voted for Augusta National but there are so many great courses with so much history. I have played the Old Course at St. Andrews (loved it) and definitely felt the presence of Old Tom Morris but it's a wind-swept links course and I like courses with plenty of foliage and elevation changes.

The Masters has always been a special event for me, having attended it twice, before they made all the changes to it. I would dearly love to play Pine Valley & Spyglass before hanging up the spikes. So many courses, so little time. Vote for your favorite and feel free to leave a comment as to why you chose that particular course.

By the way, I borrowed the image of Moses as a golfer with permission of Pargazer which is a hilarious website that offers golf horoscopes of all things! Very humorous.

Caution: Golf May Be Hazardous To Your Health

It's been a bad couple of weeks for golf with two fatalities coming back to back, one a scuba diver, diving for balls and the latest victim, a guy reaching for his ball over a cliff falls 10 feet to his death.

Be careful out there, no golf ball is worth your life, especially the crappy ones that I have seen people using! C'mon, play a decent ball, it's good for your game.

This Is Your Brain On Golf

Incredible video from Nike that demonstrates how fast a golf ball travels. In this video it doesn't appear that the golf ball is deflected at all off it's course as it passes through the mellon in slow motion.

Golfers be careful out there and be aware of what is happening around you. You do NOT want to get hit by a golf ball.

Golf Equipment Reviews By Chucky

A Guy TaylorMade For Golf!

Chucky the golferThis dude can still play! He shows up on my doorstep after 20 years since I last saw him and what does he want to do, why, go play golf of course.

After holing out for a sweet 79 the Chuckster himself let me buy him a cold one (he won) and proceeded to catch me up on what he has been up to since becoming human. (watch for the full, exclusive story here only on the LowCarb Golfer)

After not making it in Hollywood with the film horror crowd, (he couldn't compete with the likes of Jason) and being told that his image "really wasn't a good fit" for the PGATour snobs, he decided to go it alone.

And it's good news, especially for golfers , Chucky has signed a multi-year agreement with the newly formed CNBC (Chucky News Broadcasting Corp,) to host his own news and sports program. He is a HUGE fan of golf, once scoring in the low 80's using only a hatchet!

Chucky will review golf equipment, do some interesting commercial endorsements and give us some news we wish we hadn't heard about. But, that's our Chucky!

And being the great guy he is he agreed to help me promote my Amazon Golf Store – Golf Smitten.

Thanks, Chuck (he let's me call him that)
