Rocco Mediate – Great Golfer, Great Guy

I am a huge Rocco Mediate fan, he wouldn't remember me but I spent some time with him during the British Open Championship at Muirfield in 92. I got to know him a little during that event, I was a spotter with ABC Sports for the four days of the Open and Rocco helped me out of a jam when I momentarily lost my focus. He was also at the pub the night Debbie Couples decided to do a strip tease act, he may remember that!

Anyway, I digress. The point of this post is to promote Rocco's book with John Feinstein, one of the great golf writers: Are You Kidding Me? The Story of Rocco Mediate's Extraordinary Battle With Tiger Woods at the U.S. Open

You remember the one, where Tiger could hardly walk at times, playing a major with a bum knee, not just any major, the United States Open. Rocco was on his "A" game but Tiger Woods is no ordinary golf mortal and somehow he managed to pull off a victory. This is the story of that battle told from Rocco's perspective and it is fascinating.
